Staff Picks

We love to sew, and usually find inspiration in the materials. Here are a few exceptional items we love either for their eloquent design, superior quality, uniqueness or, of course, a combination of all these characteristics.

1 1/2" White Galloon Heirloom Lace (Made in France)
I am charmed by this lace which feels both timelessly elegant and modern. The rosette or shield pattern feels modern in its simplicity, but also romantic in an unfussy way.

Designer Olive & Ocher Mock Glen Plaid Wool
I love this suiting weight wool plaid; it is so close to a Glen plaid that I've called it a Glenda plaid - just Glen with a little twist! ! It screams a delicious new springtime double-breasted suit with wide lapels, cuffed pants, and feeding pigeons in the park.

Rimmed Bittersweet Brown Corozo Button (Made in Italy)
Corozo nut buttons are really special and practical. I'm using these for a pair of waxed linen jumpers graded from a 1950's children's pattern.
