We adore this chic eyelet lace shirtwaist dress designed by Marion after she fell in love with a piece of striped black and white cotton eyelet fabric from Britex…the tiny collar, the sleeve and hemline banding, and the flattering clever pleating make this dress a casual couture wonder! And lucky us, we have a similar eyelet fabric available online.
This charming red and white shirtwaist frock with its pleated skirt and pearl buttons was made by Zoe. Zoe made this dress with cotton from Britex Fabric’s second floor, and she used vintage Simplicity pattern 2444, circa 1958. She altered the sleeves and hem, by raising them slightly. She has accessorized her outfit with a narrow white belt and pearl necklace. Zoe is a history student at San Francisco State University, and has been sewing for (only) six months!
