Jeff Root is a Local San Francisco Artist who creates beautiful Fiber Art using various Woolens
(Mostly found at here Britex!)
Our Main Floor is a playground for Wool Fabric which you will see here on these beautiful pieces of Art!
It doesn’t stop there, he also creates Plush toys, Cartoons & Paintings! Jeff learned how to use a sewing machine at a very young age!
His mother taught sewing classes in their home when Jeff was a kid. When Jeff and his brother were bored (during snowstorms, etc), they would sew beanbags, which evolved slowly into Plush toys.

Thank you to everyone who joined us on March 15 for our Bridal & Evening Wear open house, the first event in our Designer Spotlight Series where we invite customers to meet and mingle with a select group of seamstresses, tailors and designers. It was an exciting night of eye candy and information at Britex Fabrics with a plethora of talented designers, along with samples of their beauteous bespoke work…..all surrounded by the amazing silks and wools on Britex Fabric’s first floor. Trunk Show: Loretta Warner
Date & Time: Saturday, November 21, 2009, 1 – 3 pm
Local designer, Loretta Warner will be presenting her timeless, innovative knitwear and other garments in a trunk show at Britex Fabrics on Saturday, November 21st between 1 and 3 pm. Loretta is a trained Fashion Designer, a faculty member of the Fashion Department of San Francisco City College where she teaches courses in sewing, draping and millinery, and a private sewing instructor in her Berkeley studio. She is the featured artist in the premier issue of Interweave Press Knitscene Magazine (Fall/Winter 05). Having a lifelong love of the art, she is a true artisan and respected master craftswoman who continually studies both Fashion and Art in the exploration of possibility that is present through the use of all things colorful and tactile. Using a variety of tools and media, including the knitting machine and industrial sewing machine, Loretta is passionate about making timeless, beautiful clothing and art.
