Babies are bursting out all over, and one tenacious infant held off through weeks of false labor only to arrive on Avery’s birthday! Avery made the stubborn wee one a bright quilt incorporating Britex Fabrics’ flannel. Loosely based upon the old-fashioned log cabin pattern, this quilt is filled with low-loft cotton batting, and tied with orange embroidery floss. We love the googly eyed owls and wacky stripes, combined with bubbly polka dots.
Joanne made this jaunty be-giraffed quilt for her soon-to-arrive great-grandchild. This is the third quilt that Joanne has sewn, and she displays a competent choice of contrasting fabrics and bold color sense. I particularly enjoy her use of classic gingham and polka dots, to coordinate with the graphically strong giraffe silhouettes. This quilt is tied using brightly colored craft thread. Quilting cottons are found on Britex Fabric’s 2nd floor.
