"Cocktail Glamour Hour" is a reticule by Marsha Schuld, created for the Talliaferro challengeBesides offering hand-embroidery day-classes for all levels, San Francisco School of Needlework and Design (SNAD) has become a center for the stitch community—across the Bay Area and around the world. One means of further promoting needlework and including followers from near and far is through SNAD’s three-time a year Stitch-at- Home Challenges.
May 1, 2017 by Britex FabricsOur neighbors at SFSNAD are running one of their challenges to commemorate the anniversary of the Summer of Love. AS usual, this challenge is one you can do at home, even if you don't live in San Francisco.

The current Stich at Home Challenge by our neighbors at the San Francisco School of Needlework and Design (SNAD) is underway. For this challenge, crewelwork-designer Anna Garris Goiser of Talliaferro Classic Needleart has generously contributed two motifs of her own design for you to interpret into stitch. You will be able to interpret the designs using any needlework technique you like! Deadline is April 15. The previous Challenge, titled Jewels of the Sea, is currently on exhibit through March 4, around the corner from Britex Fabrics at SNAD, 360 Post Street, Suite 604, open Monday-Saturday, 9:30-4:30. For more information on the Challenges or course schedule, visit www.sfsnad.org

June 8, 2016 by Britex FabricsMy name is Tesha Williams-Muhammad. I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. I am married and have four boys. I have been designing, according to my mother, from birth. From my prom dress to a magnificent gala, I have always designed my dress or outfits to wear. My inspiration right now comes from the search for balance in raising my Autistic son and everything I contact in the Universe, spiritually, mentally, morally, physically and financially. For example, I can take a simple walk through an open field and just because I appreciate it, my next dress will have an array of green colors, different textures with gold notions. That is why I love Britex Fabrics and notions. Britex helps my visions leap into fruition. Also, when I don't have vision, I can count on the Britex environment with its very large array of colors and textures to create the next new and beautiful piece for the world to enjoy. I am a designer and the world is my Tapestry.Tesha is the winner of 2 free tickets to our fall fashion show PROJKT Maiden Lane, featuring Emily Payne, presenting her children's line "Devon Rose" and introducing her new unisex outerwear collection CTRL with Nicky Lifestyles, Richard Hallmarq, Kini Zamora (Project Runway) and Rey Ortiz (Under the Gunn) with San Francisco ARTist: Michael Covington (collaborative pieces with Emily Payne)
