Nicole from the Bay area blog, Nicole At Home made a charming peplumed blouse from this vintage-look floral imported Britex Fabrics’ stretch silk. She says, “During my recent visit to Britex I purchased a beautiful stretch silk floral fabric, the most expensive piece of fabric I’ve ever purchased (but so worth it!). I only got a small amount, with some kind of sleeveless shell in mind. After making the Minna blouse by Salme patterns, their Peplum blouse caught my eye.” We love the effort that Nicole made with the fit, from decreasing the flounce of the peplum, to deepening the arm scythe, to decreasing the darts.
We are swooning for this new Italian silk fabric that just came in! A classic navy blue with vintage-inspired ivory swallows flying throughout – perfect for a long elegant scarf à la Isadora Duncan. “The dancer’s body is simply the luminous manifestation of the soul.”

Keeping it green is chic; San Francisco leads the way in the U.S., and Britex is up first on the environmental runway with this sturdy white taffeta tote bag. The purpose of the Plastic Bag Reduction Ordinance legislation is to encourage customers to bring their own checkout bags, in order to reduce the impact of disposable bags to the City and the environment. In the spirit of environmental chic, Britex Fabrics commissioned 100 of Lauren Dicioccio’s tote bags just as the Plastic Bag Reduction Ordinance took action. The Britex Fabrics’ tote bag is machine embroidered in red on white taffeta, is a sturdy and washable totes, and intended for daily use. Bags are $35 and available in-store and online! See our awesome window display. You can find out more about Lauren Dicioccio at The Workshop Residence in San Francisco.

We love typography and color. HEX, RGB, palettes, Munsell, pixels, hue, Pantone saturation, value, tone…bring it on! ‘Specially for design geeks, Britex Fabrics just received this groove-tastic cotton fabric from Italy. It is 57” wide, and costs $39.99 per 24” panel – available on the 2nd floor, or by phone at 415-392-2910. Nate wants to make a swirly gathered skirt and Avery imagines a spiffy scarf; what would you make?
