Embroidered 1920's Linen Dress by Julie

February 1, 2010 by Britex Fabrics 2 comment(s)

Julie Gallegos emailed us a picture of this graceful and lovely embroidered linen dress that she made from Britex Fabric linen. She says, “I was in Britex today, working with the delightful and very knowledgeable Melody, who referred me to you. The dress I am attaching photos of was made using sky-blue cotton-linen fabric I purchased at after working with Gigi, who was a wonderful salesperson and helped me in choosing the right fabric with a quick understanding of what I needed. I brought the original 1920s garment from my collection into Britex and she really nailed the right fabric choice for me. The originals are nearly always too small through the shoulders, so I just decided to use the original as a template, and make my own. It turned out wonderfully and I've worn this to Gatsby Summer afternoon two times now and get nothing but compliments. I hope to someday market these kits either for adult women, or for little girls. This blue dress is the #1 prototype. All the sales representatives at Britex have been really helpful and I look forward to each time I need to shop at Britex.”

It truly is amazing! Julie is working on making kits of versions of this dress for adults/children, but this project is still in the prototype stage.
