Sea Shell Home Dec Linen

September 5, 2009 by Britex Fabrics 3 comment(s)

This home decorating linen is scattered with beautifully rendered giant naturalist-style drawings of shells. The mollusk drawings are reminiscent of the work of Fielding Meek (1817-1876), American geologist, paleontologist, fine illustrator, and the first scientist in residence at the Smithsonian. It would be stunning as a shower curtain in a coral bathroom. Image lolling in a claw foot tub and exfoliating with a lavender salt scrub, while admiring this beautiful fabric.

Can't wait to see this fabric, and hope that you'll be featuring my eco-textiles with my Smithsonian-quality (I did exhibit there and do commissions for them - but the art on my fabrics is from a book I did on plants of the rainforest which they haven't shown - yet!) botanical art. Am hoping to show your buyer some of my hemp-silk fabrics this afternoon!

Please oh please tell me where I can find this fabric! I've got a sea-themed bathroom with a claw foot tub waiting for a curtain!

Unfortunately, we are out of that particular fabric, and although you can order it 'specially, the minimum order is 15 yards. However, we just completed a home decorating fabric buying trip a couple of weeks ago, and are expecting a slew of new fabrics with ocean themes sometime in the next couple of months. You can call us at 415-392-2910, stop by the store, or use our swatch service.
