Britex Fabrics is located in the heart of San Francisco's Union Square shopping district. The origin of Britex Fabrics can be traced back to Martin Spector, who came to the United States in 1939. He established the first Britex Fabrics in New York City's Garment District. In 1949, he met his wife Lucy, and while vacationing in San Francisco, decided to open another store. The store officially opened its doors in San Francisco's Union Square in 1952.
