Fresh From London: New Liberty Prints

For 140 years, Liberty of London has oscillated from a reputation as a top innovator of fashion to being considered out of mode to becoming a reliable source for classic textile prints. During its inception in the late 1800's, Liberty fostered the Aesthetic Movement in England by becoming a meeting place for artists and offering beautiful dresses, in the mode of the Aesthetic Movement, from their 'costume department'. The small floral prints that we so distinctly recognize as Liberty of London were not produced until the 1920's. Liberty offers two lines of fabrics each season--Classics and Seasonals. Each season past designs are picked from the venerable archives of Liberty prints and new avant-garde designs are created. Britex stocks cotton lawns from both collections.
