Douglas from Britex Fabrics’ 1st floor assisted Elizabeth for several months a few years ago as she created and sewed her wedding gown. She writes, “As promised, here are a couple of pics of the white LED wedding dress…Thank you so much for your help on this wonderful and very fun project. We got married at Vizcaya in Miami, just after dusk, on a warm beautiful evening in March 2002. The dress worked perfectly and was a great hit with all the engineers.” Elizabeth’s brilliantly lit dress is based upon a vintage frock designed by Charles James, with bias-cut lace gores, and adorned with sparkling firefly-like LED lights!
Here is a romantic bridal gown designed and created by local designer Michele for the wedding of Brie and Brian. This dress is made with a lovely Venice lace fabric from Britex Fabrics – we love the simple lines, v-neck, empire waist-line accented with silk satin ribbon, and the delicate scalloped hem that floats around Brie’s ankles. Kelly and her good friend (and sewing mentor) Joke made this stunning wedding gown for Kelly’s daughter, Tiffany. The classic long-sleeved jacket was made from 6 ¼ yards of delicate cream colored silk taffeta from Britex Fabrics, and has a beautifully beaded train. Sewing adventures were shared, with Kelly hand-beading one side of the jacket and train, and Joke hand-beading the opposite side! Both professionalism and love shine through in this exceedingly special dress!
