Colorblocked Chloe in Stretch Velveteen by Nicole

IMG_1111

It’s only fitting (though coincidental!) that it’s the start of Sewing Indie Month and the garment I’ve sewn up is from the incredible indie company, Victory Patterns!  Here, I’ve interpreted their Chloe dress, a 60s inspired fitted sheath, in colorblock with lovely stretch grey and plum velveteen.  While velveteen isn’t the easiest fabric to work with (I’ll give some tips to make it easier in this post), it gives an unexpected and (in my opinion!) fabulous twist to this dress.

Italian Velvet Home Decorating Fabric

This soft and scrumptious home decorating velvet is imported from romantic Italy, and comes in four color ways, taupe, mossy green, burnt orange or ocher. The design is a graceful Arabesque pattern, accented with open pomegranates and thistles. This velvet would be elegant made into drapes for a home library, with each window flanked by ceiling-high mahogany bookshelves, and facing a stone fireplace. This home decorating fabric is 56” wide, $145 a yard, and found on Britex Fabric’s 2nd floor.

Please email M. Du Jour at Britex Fabrics if you want to buy this fabric.

If you wish another fabric, contact us through our fabric mail order department for detailed mail order assistance.
