With marvelous steadfast determination, the talented Jo from the blog BridgesOnTheBody is sewing her way through every corset pattern in Norah Waugh’s book, Corsets and Crinolines. She started in 2009; we love her first corset project made of 4” wide fuchsia ribbon, and lined in scraps of coutil. She details her progress on her blog, step-by-step including photographs and encourages folks to join with periodic sew-alongs. She says, “If one were to wear a corset while playing tennis or bicycling I believe this would be the style to wear”; it certainly would be festive for a casual bicycle meander through Golden Gate Park! And we are positively swooning over her most recent corset – a 1911 number made from a black and white Liberty of London large scale floral print and trimmed in boisterous aqua satin; this begs high tea and low lights. What is next………
