Make a Felt Baby ABC Book!

It is the year of the dragon, so don’t be too surprised to see babies blooming like posies! Claire from Craftzine made this tutorial for a group baby gift — an old-fashioned felt cloth alphabet book. Clair says, “The book is beautiful, hilarious, and put together by friends with all levels of artistic skills. I love the different approaches to each page and that the personality of each contributor is obvious as you flip through the book…The great thing about this project is that you could organize a “mailed baby shower” for a friend who is far away, or at least allow distant friends and family to participate in a baby gift that will be personal and meaningful.

Squirrel Tea Cozy of Wool Felt

The deviously delicious folks from Homelife.com.au bring us this free pattern and tutorial on making an über cute tea cozy in the shape of a chunky squirrel. We want to make this forest creature in cheerful red or robust fuchsia wool felt! Imagine tea time with this sweet critter full of steaming Earl Grey tea, perched next to a china plate of nutmeg maple butter cookies. This cozy should fit most one- to three-cup teapots. Hint: This would make a fantabulous holiday gift, with a bag of fragrant tea and tin of home-baked cookies.

Free Felt Harry Potter Doll Tutorial

Heidi of MyPaperCrane crafted a PDF tutorial for this groovy Harry Potter felt doll! He even has a removable robe and gigantic round spectacles….just like the real Harry Potter! All you need is felt, embroidery floss, and a needle, stuffing, a couple of pipe cleaners, fabric glue, a stick, and pins. She made it using a sewing machine, but it would also be easy to hand-sew. This is a great toy for Potter fans of all ages.

Wee Felt Bunnies Tutorial

We think that bunnies are the new black. Straight from stylish New Zealand and the ever brilliant HazelnutGirl, comes a tutorial for making wee felt bunnies. She says that she was keen to resurrect this pattern because her grandmother used to make similar bunnies back in the 1950s. I’d like to see a festive flock of felt bunnies in autumn shades of warm browns, surrounding a cornucopia of pumpkins and dried corn
