What a marvelously pretty summer top by FabricAddict from South Africa and at BurdaStyle! Although it is simple to make, cool, and loose, using silk chiffon turns up the glamour by several degrees. We love the understated coffee brown and white polka dotted fabric, but think it would look lovely in black and cream dotted silk chiffon too. And to make it even more impressive, this charmer was made without a pattern!

Britex Fabrics is pleased as punch to be able to work with BurdaStyle and their Project of The Week tutorial – a summery two-tier skirt. BurdaStyle made it up with 2 ¼ yards of 45” wide silk; we love the vivid peony pink and chartreuse combination of this silk charmeuse from Britex.

We love free patterns! The ever-fashionable BurdaStyle has scads of open source patterns on their website. We were particularly taken with this 6-buttoned straight skirt. It only takes 1 3/8 yards of fabric, 1/2 yard of lining…and six snazzy buttons!

Mikmik from Ljubljana, Slovenia designed this free child’s highchair seat cover pattern for BurdaStyle. It fits the Ikea ANTILOP highchair; all you need is some fabric and batting….the instructions include a PDF printable pattern. We think it would be super cute in a frisky Japanese cotton print or a bright block-print fabric.

Jacquie from Perth, Australia made this glamorous biker jacket using a pattern from BurdaStyle Magazine (Dec. 2009), and smartly fastened with a decorative metallic zipper from Britex. I love her workmanship and style.
