Amber and Brandi of Hip Hostess, and our hostess’ with the mostest created a cunning bridal birdcage veil…and then graciously shared the tutorial! This confection is fashioned with Russian veiling, silk organza and feathers. You could just as easily make this millinery bon mot for other occasions; it would be a chic chapeau in dove grey netting, with black feathers and a gleaming silvery silk flower……perfect to wear to the opera!

Laura is wearing an enchanting handmade double-tiered wedding veil. The veiling is made of silk tulle, and it is adorned with silk ribbon and vintage silk lace edging. The edging lace has a pyramid motif that is reminiscent of the Art Deco era, and is lightly embellished with glass seed beads. One veil is 21” long, and the other one is 24” long ($345).
We have paired it with a stunning, understated silk from our 1st floor. This gleaming ballet pink silk is scattered with luminous white pearls. It is $49.99/yard and 45” wide.

June will arrive more quickly than we expect, and with June come the brides! Using Vogue pattern V8569, a handful of gossamer tulle, and a couple of yards of lovely lace from Britex Fabrics you can make your own romantic, heirloom wedding veil. This imported French 4 1/2″ wide ivory Alençon lace, with a corded rose and leaf motif, and a double-scalloped border can easily be cut through the center to make trim, and would be luxuriously stunning as veil edging.
