Du Jour – Golden Wheat Striped Linen
Spring is finally here. The plum trees are shedding their pink petals like cats losing their undercoats. I’ve found an empty park bench, its dark green paint peeling slightly and the wood planks warmed by the afternoon sun. As flower petals drift onto my lap, I toss the starlings, sparrows, and pigeons the remains of my brioche and take another sip of my cooling latte. A particularly social songbird hops upon the shoulder of my wheat colored linen shirt, so I whistle a bar of “Non, je ne regrette rien” as I try to tempt her with a palm of cakey crumbs.
